Prudence Foundation originally conceived Cha-Ching as a musical animated series designed to impart money-related concepts to children in an enjoyable and engaging manner. Financial literacy is a critical life skill that needs to be instilled at a young age and taught in a structured manner. Prudence Foundation partnered with JA Asia Pacific to develop the Cha-Ching Curriculum in order to meet this societal need to build a stronger foundation for local as well as global economies in the future.
To broaden its impact among young audiences, Prudence Foundation collaborated with JA Asia Pacific and JA Members to bring about the Cha-Ching program in schools. The collaboration aims to provide the essential components for in- school curriculums to support schools and teachers instill four key money management concepts in students’ daily life. The curriculum places a significant emphasis on finance, mathematics, planning, and analytical abilities. Students are urged to employ critical thinking skills to make informed decisions about managing their finances, applying four key concepts: Earn, Save, Spend, and Donate in their everyday activities. These concepts foster constructive attitudes as students delve into and refine their money-management abilities both inside and outside the classroom.
Through a variety of hands-on activities and technological supplements designed to support differentiated learning styles, students develop a better understanding of the relationship between what they learn at school and their successful participation in a worldwide economy.
